I recently made a tough decision that all my friends and family told me not to make: I’ve chosen to put my San Diego home for sale.

It feels like a tough time to sell a home these days. Everybody knows the real estate market in San Diego is down, but the truth is, the real estate market is down everywhere. All my friends, some of whom are real estate agents right here in San Diego County have all told me, “It’s a buyers market, wait until the things recover!”

Maybe you’ve heard it too – all the pessimism.

But sometimes, regardless of the market, you just have to sell your home. Maybe you’re relocating for a job, or perhaps you’ve decided it’s time to downsize because the kids are grown and out of the house. Maybe, because of the down market, you’ve finally found the home of your dreams in San Diego or North County, or somewhere else, but you need to sell your current home in order to take advantage of that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Well, I’ve learned that there’s good reason to be optimistic. Despite all the naysayers , media hype, and doom and gloom predictions, homes are selling in San Diego every single day. In some ways, this is the best time ever to get involved in San Diego real estate because market-changing innovations and great opportunities are made in tough times.
