CurbAppeal5Summertime is one of the most popular times for selling a home. It’s a great time to sell a home, but because of the popularity of selling homes in the summer, there can be a lot of competition.

Curb appeal is extremely important during the summer. You want to consider the outdoor staging of your home and yard very carefully. Make sure that all plants, trees and bushes in your yard are at their peak health. If any plant is dying or decaying, you want to remove it. A dying plant during the summer can make a home look less attractive.

If you have a lawn, make sure it is fertilized and watered regularly so that it is as green and attractive as possible. One great way to make flower beds in your yard look even more attractive and appealing is by spreading bark mulch around them. If your yard does not have flower beds, it is a good idea to add some summer annuals to give your yard some color and make it look more attractive.

For the interior of the home, it is a good idea to repaint your walls in a light neutral home before you begin showing it. This is especially true if your home’s interior is either a bright or dark color, or the paint is worn.

It’s extremely important to make sure your home is clean when people are looking at it, but during the summer, any flaws can be much more obvious in the bright light. Make sure that your windows are perfectly clean and letting in light.

You should always make sure that your home is clean and free of clutter when it is being shown. It’s especially important to put away any winter things, including heavy coats or boots, or winter sports gear. You want your home to seem light, clean and airy. If you like, you can have a few summery floral arrangements or bowls of fruit in your home to make it more appealing.

If your home  has any unpleasant odors like pet smells or cigarette smoke, you should make sure to air out your home and clean it so that the odors are gone. You can use a light organic room spray, but do not overdo it. Many people are allergic to perfumes. It’s often a better idea to have windows open so that fresh air can circulate.

Don’t forget to offer people water and lemonade when they come to your home. During the warm summer months, people will be more thirsty.
