Here in Poway you can still find arrow heads, spear heads and Native American pottery along the banks of Poway Creek. The two valleys that make up Poway and give it it’s name (Poway was originally called Paguay, Spanish for “the meeting of little valleys”) have provided a home for San Diego residents since the 1600’s. Even before it was named San Diego, in fact. So, needless to say, if you’re looking for San Diego County real estate with a sense of history, you need look no further.

Community here runs thick. Poway is home to just under 50,000 proud Californians. Los Angeles has The Trojans, San Diego has the Aztecs and Poway has their own hometown sports heroes, The Titans. Whether it’s high school wrestling, baseball, basketball, lacrosse or football, The Titans have a great track record of reminding the rest of the state about little ol’ Poway. So if you’re looking to raise a family, you’re sure to find the Poway school district to be a shining example of the California education system. As well as find plenty of single family homes, condominium opportunities and even affordable foreclosures.

On a personal note, Poway reminds me of the kind of town time forgot. It’s an insular community. Everybody seems to know everybody else. The small town paper is full of stories about farmer’s markets, bake sales and community meetings. On the roads of Poway no one is in hurry. No need to rush if you’ve got all the time in the world to get to where you need to be. Traffic jams are a thing of myth. Something that only “city folk” need to deal with. It’s a gem for the real estate buyer who’s looking to get away form it all. And you can consider your gem dealer.

If you’re trying to gain insight to the Poway houses market, want to know the ins and outs of the community or are looking to simply invest in property in Poway, then is the place to start. Poway isn’t just another little town with cheap and affordable housing. It can be a fresh start or even a quiet getaway. I’m sure, however, that you’ll find it’s the perfect home.
