I’ll admit, I’m not a big shopper. It drives my wife crazy, but I don’t want to go to the mall, the grocery store, or even the hardware store until I know exactly what I want. I get in, get what I want for the right price, and get out. No salespeople hassling me, no hanging around, no endlessly haggling over price. I have better things to do with my time.

Shopping in a mall is bad enough, but there’s nothing worse than shopping for real estate. Buying a home is the most expensive and important purchase of my life and all I want to do is find the right home for the right price. Instead, I find myself driving around pointlessly from open house to open house looking at homes I don’t even like. Even worse, you can’t even look at homes for sale these days without having to talk with a dozen different real estate agents, all of whom want you to sign an exclusive buyers agreement. Whatever happened to competition?

That’s why I love Open Offer. I can view all the houses for sale in my area (Carlsabd) without having to talk for to agent. I can search all the homes in the entire MLS by the number of bedrooms or bathrooms, by zip code, and even by street in order to find exactly what I’m looking for. Then, when I find the right home for sale, I can make an offer on my terms with no obligation to buy. I set my price and the system negotiates for me. The right home, at the right price. No risk, no hassle.

Now, nobody else does this so I know it sounds crazy but here’s how it works: when I find the right home for sale all I have to do is name my starting offer, name my highest offer, and set the increments I’m willing to offer in-between. The system does the rest. Everything is private, so not even the seller’s agent knows my highest offer. That way, I’m guaranteed to get the home I want at the best possible price. Why didn’t someone think of this before?

Here’s the very best part. There’s no obligation to buy. None. Even if I my offer is accepted I can choose to not enter into a real estate contract! In the meantime, if I find a better home for sale for a better price, I’m free to make offers on that real estate. In fact, I can make as many offers as I want on as many homes as I want with no obligation to buy. That way, sellers are competing for my business.

That’s what I call good old fashioned competition.
